lincolnmiller“Where do you want it?” Lincoln called out, voice strained as he finally came into view. Carrying a large, handmade and carved cabinet, he brought it down the stairs into the library basement. He carried it over the threshold for Roosevelt’s ex- at least he was ninety percent sure that was Roosevelt’s ex and not her sister- and scrunched his nose up at… Keira. He was eighty eight percent sure that was Keira.
“Up your bum-“ A voice called out making Lincoln scowl as he followed her. “-I’m kidding, jeez Lincoln. Can you put it over in the reference, I need to magically reinforce it before we can store any texts in it.”
Lincoln carefully placed the cabinet down where he was told before he finally looked up and at Keira. Definitely Keira, not Kaitlin. The same Keira who had a great big shiner around her eye. She looked like she’d been punched in the face. Which was worrying.
“Woah, that looks bad- have you put ice on it?” Lincoln asked, brow taut with concern as he reached out. They weren’t besties but you know she wasn’t bad… for a literature snob. “How’d that happen?”
“I tripped over some books, it happens.” Lincoln frowned at the explanation, it looked more well- fist shaped then anything. “Thanks again, we can’t trust the Swedish company to hold a charm worth a damn on it and some of these books are pretty dangerous.”
“Sure, you know if you needed to talk about-“
“I don’t but thanks.”
Lincoln sighed, smiling at Kai- Keira before nodding and heading back up the stairs. Maybe he’d text Roosevelt and find out what was going on.
